Wayne County Fairgrounds
Full operational web presence for one of Michigan's largest county fairs. Blueprint identified zero competitors with a staff-managed admin panel — we built it in.
The problem
A county fair runs on information that changes daily — schedules, exhibitor details, vendor forms, facility rentals — but the fair's web presence wasn't built for staff to update. Every change waited on outside help, and during fair week that meant wrong or missing information at exactly the wrong moment. The Advantage Blueprint compared competing Michigan county fairs and found a striking gap: not one of them had a website their own staff could manage. Every fair in the set depended on a developer for basic updates. Whoever solved that first would run the most current fair website in the region.
What we built
- An event schedule and fair-week programming hub organized around what visitors need each day
- Exhibitor and vendor information sections with the forms participants actually ask for
- Facility rental pages so the grounds generate inquiries outside fair week
- A staff-managed admin panel so board members and volunteers update schedules, announcements, and pages without a developer
- Client-owned hosting and accounts with a documented handover and walkthrough
Result
The fairground now runs the only county fair website in its competitive set that staff can manage end to end. Schedule changes, announcements, and seasonal updates go live the same day instead of waiting on a developer. The admin panel — the gap the Blueprint found across every competitor — is now the fair's operational advantage, and the site works as hard in rental season as it does during fair week.
